Region History

The newest frontier in Minas Gerais, exploited for coffee plantations, is Chapada de Minas, in Jequitinhonha Valley, where the town of Capelinha is located and concentrates a large part of local production. Among the producing cities are also Angelândia, Montes Claros and Buritizeiro. Characteristics of the coffee cups: caramel, raisin, dense body, citric acidity and lemon grass.

Producer History

Second generation in the family’s coffee culture, Ricardo Hirofumi continues the work that his parents started in 1975 with a lot of effort. Back in the days, the region was not recognized for agricultural zoning as suitable for growing coffee, but because he believed that it would be possible since then, they continued with production and producing very high quality coffees.
The love for coffee motivates him to seek improvement for crops and always thinking about sustainable means adding a lot of value to the production of his coffees.
