Mr Luis Gonzaga Ordoñez Camero
Born and raised in La Plata, Huila, he had a childhood surrounded by coffee trees, been involved in the coffee farming literally for all his life.
His entrepreneur, charismatic and servable personality made Luis to create OCCICAFE cooperative back in 2004, producer group of 200 members that has lead for almost a decade. Not long ago, he decided to move on and started Global Cafes, company dedicated 100% to serve the most quality demanding clients in Colombia.
La Plata is located in the southwestern part of the department of Huila west to the Cauca department frontier.
La Plata weather is mostly template with an average temperature of 20 degrees Celsius. It is also characterized by having a constant temperature which makes drying processes more even than other areas of the country. The area has also several volcanos influence which in most of the cases positively impacts productivity and cup profile of the coffee plantations.
Due to its geography and nearness to Cauca department, during many years La Plata Huila was one of the most affected areas by the Colombian internal armed conflict.
